Itinerary description
Done with my 9 y.o.
Nice but demanding route in Gražutės regional park.
Not quite the route which I originally intended, as we should have started in Salakas beach, and ended in Kiemionys, but well, whatever.
*****
So...: DAY ONE: Lake Luodis (Žagarinė) > Lake Asavas campsite
We started with circumnavigating Juodasis Astravas Island (= due to a misunderstanding with the operator, we were brought to Žagarinė instead of Salakas beach), before entering the canal to Lūodykštis. Lots of reeds in those canals, which made the paddling difficult and sometimes a bit unpleasant in several places along the route. Finally we reached Lake Asavas which was quite crowded with campers. We had a great late afternoon/evening at the campsite.
*****
DAY TWO: Lake Asavas campsite > Antalieptė lagoon
On to Lake Asavelis, more of the canal (actually, River Šventoji), and an unexpected section of rapids (seriously?!) near Tiltiškės. Then we reached the old watermill, and later continued to Antalieptė lagoon, and beached at Bikėnai. We did not continue to Kiemionys further down the lagoon as originally planned.
