Itinerary description
A short trip around the islands that dot the harbour near Granada. An eruption of the nearby Mombacho Volcano some 1,500 years ago created this beautiful site in Lake Nicaragua. Water was very warm and the people are friendly. We parked right at the start site and rented (not the best equipment) a double kayak for a couple of hours ($20).
The islands vary in size and were either fisherman's homes, summer retreats or cafes that cater to sight seers.
