An easy section and for all audiences. Thanks to the many islands and corners, it is one of the most beautiful stretches to navigate a canoe on the Ebro river.
The duration of the route is between 2:30 p.m. 3:30 p.m. It all depends on what we entertained and the stops we make.

DESCRIPTION:
We leave the cars on the old boat pass of Ascó-Vinebre, on the left bank of the Ebro. There, to board, we used the ramp that was used to load the vehicles to the barge. With the town of Ascó just before our ship and we make the first meters down the river.
In a few minutes, we arrive in an area where we will notice that the water accelerates a bit, creating small "fast" ones. Before us, and towards the right bank of the Ebro, we can see the entrance of the Island of Ascó. If we wish we can enter this galactus, but we have to take into account, since in summer it is usually filled with macrophytes and other algae that make it difficult to pass.
If you decide to follow the track, we leave the island to our right, following the small "fast". If we do not move too far from the Island, at the end of it, we can observe the wrecked remains of the llagut and the platform that made up the old boat passage of Asco-Vinebre. Arrived here because of a heavy flood.
After 25 minutes, Ebro river down, to the left of the river, we will encounter Vinebre Pier. If we wanted to make the route a bit shorter, we could have left from here. This would have shortened the stretch just over 3 km.
Just a few meters further down and in the same channel of this jetty, in a very strong return from the river, there was an Iber port. Currently, however, nothing can be distinguished from the river being.
Continuing along the same river side, just after the return, we skirt a rock and we are facing an island, there are a couple of narrow areas in this island, but it can be well, without problems. It is likely, however, during the summer to be macrophilic accumulation that makes the passage a bit difficult. Even so, rarely, the galactus is cut completely.
Once we have left the island we go to the right side of the river, where we will encounter another island: the Illeta de Mugrons, where it is usually possible without many problems. However, if the flow is very low the entrance is dry and can not be navigated.
After passing the Illeta de Mugrons, the Ebro begins to travel through the so-called Ase pass. On the right we can see that the mountains come to touch the river in the form of large rock extensions.
If we look at it, above this rock you can see a section of the GR-92, the Camí de l'Ebre. Next, in front of these imposing rocks we will find, in the middle of the river, a small island, the Island of Independence. It's so small that only the flow of the river rises a little, it disappears below the water. If we want to, and if the Ebro allows us, we can make a stop on this picturesque island.
Now we face a long straight that, about 40 minutes later, will take us to the village of Garcia. At this point, just to the passage of a boat, you can also stop.
About 5 minutes after passing Garcia's boat pass, on the left bank of the Ebro, the Siurana River flows, where we can go back about 200 meters. Although this will depend directly on the Ebro cabal, since if it goes higher than normal, you can go back further. It should also be said that this place, during July and August, is usually filled with algae, and it is very likely that it will not be possible to enter completely.
Once we have enjoyed the Siurana, we can paddle to the other bank of the river and, once we pass the railway bridge, we will find another island where we can pass. However, it has to be taken into account, since the current is a bit strong and can take us directly to the shores of the shore where we may be in danger of overturning. If we do not trust enough of our skills with the canoe, it is better to go through the river, leaving the island to our right, thus avoiding these obstacles.
Continuing sheltered on the right bank of the river, and if the flow allows it, we have the opportunity to pass through another island (it is important to take into account the flow, because if we do not stay stuck in the middle of the galactus and we will touch stretch the canoes). If we do not see it clearly, it is better to continue in the middle of the river.
Once past this island, we sail following the right bank of the Ebro river, 10 minutes further down in this same margin, we will find the entrance to the island of Subarrec. This galactus, sometimes during the summer, is dried in the central part and between this and algae, it can not be sailed and the canoe is stretched. Even so, I recommend fervently passing it, since it is probably the most beautiful and wild corner of the entire Ebre Català.
Passing the whole island from top to bottom will take us about 20-30 minutes depending on the state in which we find it and what we entertain with the landscape.
When leaving the Island of Subarrec, we will have the last effort until reaching Móra la Nova. But before arriving we still have one last adventure, only feasible if the Ebro goes down with enough water. If we continue to pale along the right bank of the river, and we are alert, you can enter the Móra d'Ebre galactus. But it must be very alert, since between the current the push pushes us and that the entrance is very small and you do not see it until you are on it, it is very easy to jump. If we do not see it clearly, it is better to continue through the middle of the river.
When we have passed this island, we sail following the right margin of the Ebro and 10 minutes further down we will find the entrance to the island of Subarrec. This galacho, sometimes, during the summer, dries in the central part and between this and the algae, you reach a point where you can not sail and you have to pull the kayak. Still, I strongly recommend passing, as it is probably the most beautiful and wild corner of the entire Ebro as it passes through Catalonia.

Aquest pas de barca, de recent fabricació, tenia problemes per creuar el riu de la manera tradicional (osigui aprofitant la força de la corrent) ja que la corrent en aquesta zona no te força suficient. Ara funciona amb un motor elèctric carregat amb plaques solars. Aquest punt també és perfecte per desembarcar, hi ha una zona amb taules i cadires si s’hi vol menjar alguna cosa. A l’estiu, inclús hi ha un bar. CASTELLANO Aquí encontramos el paso de barca de García. Este paso de barca, de reciente fabricación, tenía problemas para cruzar el río de la forma tradicional, (aprovechando la fuerza de la corriente) a causa de que la corriente en esta zona no tiene la fuerza suficiente. Ahora funciona con un motor electrónico cargado con placas solares. Este también es un buen punto para hacer una parada. Hay una zona con mesas si se quiere comer algo. En verano, incluso hay un bar.

Magnífica remada, del tot plaent i molt bones les indicacions i les fotografies. La recomano a tothom ja que es pot fer al nivell de cadascú i sense problemes. Amb les indicacions ni haurà prou per gaudir del tram, però la companyia d'un bon professional coneixedor del riu ajuda a convertir l'experiència en fantàstica.
