9 - Around the Municipality

Itinerary description
- Leave the City Hall on the left and go down Calle Costanilla to the roundabout. By the third exit of the roundabout, follow the N122 and at about 450m turn right on Calle Doctor Fleming and go straight until the central walk of Valorio (1). Go through the Fountain of the Lion, then, towards the area of the bars and at the roundabout continue up the bike path. Then, pass by the Croix bridge and stay until the end of the lane, to continue on the left dirt road until you come to the Camino del Monte. It is the only climb of the route, about 750 m. with a landing in the middle. Km 2.2
Then, take the track on the left and follow it, while you see all the west of the city, until crossing the N - 122 road. Then, take the dirt road on the left, Guimaré road, a few meters parallel to the road and then between some fences. Cross the San Isidro neighborhood, passing in front of the church until you reach the ZA-P-2223 road. Km 6.2
Turn right and once passed the green hedges of the Corazón de María School which is on your right, take the path on the left towards the watermills of Gijón (2). After contemplating its ruins on the river, continue the path, gazing the whole of the cathedral, with the castle and its walls, until the bridge of the Poets. Go under and follow as close as possible to the river.
Start a complete crossing of the city from west to east, along the Duero (3). From the park, the neighborhood and the olive groves of Olivares; on the other side, Los Pelambres beach, the San Frontis district and the San Francisco convent-Rey Alfonso Enriques Foundation; pass under the stone, iron and railway bridges, see in the middle the island of "los Pájaros"; Cross the "Tres Árboles" promenade, next to the canoing canal, leaving in the middle the islands of "the Antropófagos", the "Club Náutico" and "Las Pallas", until the mouth of the Valderaduey. Km 13.5
Then, continue upstream through the bike lane to the N-525 road. Cross the road very carefully and follow the track to the left, which soon turns parallel to the railway line, to the new bridge. Cross it and take the dirt road on the left, go along the Camino del Torrao, and take Calle de la Villarina. After crossing the CL-612 road, take the first option on the left, and at the next crossroads, again on the left to reach the roundabout on the N-630 road. Km 19.0
Then, continue to the left, next to the road, pass another roundabout and go until a third one, turn right (4), road of the Hiniesta, and make about 2,500m. Then, turn left onto the first paved road that goes down to Zamora, pass by the Cristo de Valderrey (5). Follow the route until the bike lane of Valorio to return to the starting point at La Plaza Mayor. Km 26.00
