Itinerary description
Alto Tajo y Serranía de Cuenca - etapa 3 de un total de 5 etapas.
Stage 3 of 5, visiting some of the best landscapes of the Southern Iberian Chain (Alto Tajo and Serrania de Cuenca).
This was the longest stage, close to 100 kms. Exceptionally cold for the month of June, the first hours along the 'camino del Tajo' were difficult. In Poveda de la Sierra I managed to get a coffee with milk from a closed bar (warmest thanks to the waitress). The nicest part in my opinion was the tracks and forest roads between Beteta and Santa Maria del Val. My accommodation was in Fuertescusa, in the hotel of the same name, open only for me that night. They were so kind to offer me a nice dinner, and also a fantastic breakfast the next morning. At the evening I climbed to a viewpoint over the village and the river cliffs.
