Itinerary description
On some hand-drawn map with hiking trails, we found a track to the west of beautiful conical shaped Inerie volcano. Luckily we hired some guides (detour to Watumeze on the map) because that track is very rarely traveled and hard to follow, leave alone on a bike. The guides were literally carrying our bikes for a couple of hours along grass covered lava fields, until we reached the edge of the forest. There the fun started on a single track until we reached the first hut. I am quite sure that nobody has ever taken bikes to this part of Flores. Besides our guides, we had not seen anyone for the entire morning. It was very adventurous and only recommended if you find guides willing to carry your bikes for the first part! The road along the coast is paved and in Aimere, we rented a car back to Ruteng.
