Itinerary description
Third part of the Deeside Way.
http://www.deesideway.org/walks/banchory-to-aboyne/
This section of the trail doesn't follow the old railway as much and, while previous sections are possible with road bikes or even dutch style bikes, in this case a mountain bike with good suspension and good tyres is fundamental.
Options to get to Banchory from Aberdeen include driving or a Stagecoach 201 bus on which to take your bike. You can ask for information about the "coach services" for your intended day in the Union Square bus station, as the more frequent "deckers" that run along the same 201 line don't allow bikes unless they're portable.
Don't forget to bring a bell and watch for pedestrians and dogs.
