Itinerary description
A Madres-Coronat route, not recommended except for more skilful riders than ourselves. It tries to find a way out of Ria following an irrigation channel, but access has changed and you’ll get lost if you don’t compromise by taking the road instead, leading to the obligatory gravel climb.
From the high point you descend, at first, on an eminently rideable footpath. It briefly merges with a track then makes its own way. Route-finding becomes very tentative: there are no balises, the Madres-Coronat GPS track corresponds to nothing on the ground, and the true path is overgrown and little used.
The vegetation opens out at the boundary of the hedgehog reserve. There are some enjoyable technical obstacles here before the route plummets down a spur, far beyond our abilities. It eases off on a corniche which we didn’t like any better, before becoming briefly rideable before the end.
