Bornos - Alrededor del bosque 200412

Nuestra ruta parte de la Calle de los Clérigos en un barrio antiguo de Bornos. Bajamos hasta la Plaza Alcalde José González. En este punto encontramos el Ayuntamiento, el Palacio de los Ribera y la Parroquia Santo Domingo de Guzmán. Aquí desviamos a la izquierda. Un poco más adelante bajamos a la derecha por la Calle de Granada hasta llegar al cementerio. Dejamos el cementerio a la izquierda y salimos del pueblo por un carril que nos lleva a un cruce de cuatro caminos. Desde aquí podemos desviar a nuestra izquierda por la inacabado y desmantelado ferrocaril Jerez-Almargen (Vía Verde de la Sierra). Aproximadamente durante 500 m la ruta sigue por el mismo camino. Entonces tomamos un camino a la derecha hasta una regilla. Es aquí donde comienza un carril de tierra a nuestra izquierda por un bosque de eucaliptos. Continuamos el camino con el embalse de Bornos a la derecha y los eucaliptos a la izquierda. Recomendo hacer la ruta cuando el agua embalsada no llega al 80% de su capacidad. (www.embalses.net). Podemos apreciar de una magnífica vista por el embalse y vemos al fondo también la Sierra de Grazalema. Al final de este carril llegamos a un cruce. Aquí tomamos a la izquierda, pasando por otra r egilla que nos lleva al tramo del ferrocaril citado. A continuación tomamos a la izquierda. En el último tramo llegamos otra vez al cementerio. Una vez allí podemos desviar a la derecha al centro urbano o seguimos disfrutando un poco más del camino por el tramo de ferrocaril.

Our route departs from Calle de los Clérigos located in the old district of Bornos. We decent to the Plaza Mayor José González. At this point we find the Town Hall, el Palacio de los Ribera and la Parroquia Santo Domingo de Guzmá. Take a left and a little further down go right to the Calle Granada towards the cemetery. We leave the cemetery on our left and arrive at a crossing. From here we take a left and continue our trip on the unfinished dismantled railway Jerez-Almargen (Via Verde de la Sierra). After approximately 500 m we take the right path to a cattle guard. At last we arrive at the start of a beautiful dirt track between enormous eucalyptus trees. We continue our journey along the reservoir of Bornos. It is recommended only to take this route when the water reservoir is filled with less than 80% of its capacity. (www.embalses.net). From here you have a magnificent view of the reservoir with in the background the Sierra de Grazalema. At the end of the dirt track we arrive at another crossroad. Here we turn left crossing another cattle guard and continue to the railway mentioned before. From here we take a left. In the last section we arrive again at the cemetery. Once there you can divert to the right to the city center or continue and enjoy some more of this stretch of dismantled railway.
