Itinerary description
This is a great varied ride, a mixture of off and on road but almost all avoiding busy roads. It takes in the stone carvings at Birchover, the Nine ladies (Derbyshire's small version of Stonehenge) and Bakewell.
We did this on eBikes, there are quite a few climbs and a few rough downhill sections why I classed it as moderately difficult.
For some reason the GPS goes a bit wrong heading out of Bakewell but the route is straightforward from here back to Chatsworth.
Starting from Chatsworth we headed up high onto the moors before dropping down some rough tracks. We had coffee at The Druids Inn - Birchover before exploring the caves and carvings.
Then it's up high again to the nine ladies stones. They are very small but it is worth seeing, the countryside around them is very beautiful. We walked some of the way here because there was a no biking sign. You can take the road as an alternative to walking but you'll miss the great countryside up there.
Next we headed down into Bakewell, a great place for cake before finally heading back to Chatsworth. A great circular route

We stopped here for coffee, an absolute must is to go and explore the caves and rocks by the side of the pub. A great playground for adults and kids. Just don't fall off the edge, there are some big drops

Nine Ladies
Derbyshires version of Stonehenge. Yes they are very small but it is worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.
