Itinerary description
Cycling - Too hot in town and I decided to go for a ride in the mountains, but it was hot there as well. No escape.About 30C (86F) and only the 20% of this ride is in the shade. Instead of aborting I decided to pace at the lowest possible speed.
Steady 12% grade all the way and total ascent of 710 m (2,330 ft). First 1.5 Km (1 mi) on asphalt. The rest is on not too rough unpaved surface, one-lane wide road.
No potable water along the way so don't forget your bottle(s).
Just the time to reach the Santuario of Ciavanis and no view as clouds were forming with some rumble.
Curious collection of statues of the Virgin Mary lined up atop a rock at Km 4.
Not the best day but a ride is a ride :)
