Itinerary description
The aim of this route was to enjoy the ‘Slides’ singletrack DH in Dílar.
The route mixes it together with countryside trails and some other relaxed singletracks. Little or almost none tarmacked road is very welcome for this loop… and I hope to reduce it even more soon, which is possible.
I rated it ‘Difficult’ due to some heavy ramps, and to the speed I took due to having enjoyed the day with some fast carbon fibre friends (I’m no fast rider, + heavy deck, haha).
The DH itself is not that demanding or tricky, but mostly supercool narrow path with some cozy stunts.
Mind the nasty sawed branches of the trees at handlebar level at some hairpins and turns: there’s some risk of getting hooked and fall, I can tell -hahaha
Some Features & Tips:
-Once crossed Dílar Stream small bridge (km9.75), mind the path uphill: there’s this black tale that the environmental agents will fine you unless you dismount and walk beside your bike, due to having entered a natural park narrow path (err… incidentally, it’s paved in stone!!). Just more of the nonsense nightmare of political look-a-like-protection of the land against we harmful bikers, booo! -hahaha
-The Acequia Alta small irrigation canal from km15.2 on, offers relaxing cool shady flat singletracky rest and sightseeing along its way, including a point in the middle where water can be refuelled from a fountain.
