Itinerary description
An amazing ride up to a reservoir in the Pyrenees. Starting from just off the main road from Vielha you climb up into a side valley. Buena vistas, a crumbling road and a mile long tunnel make the ride all the more fun!
I would say you can do this ride on a gravel bike and maybe a road bike with strong winter tyres. Yet as always; take tubes and pumps and what not.
Some people claim that the tunnel is too dark because of the poor lighting; yet I could see well enough to ride? Take bike lights if you struggle with low light or the feeling of claustrophobia. Yet just be patient and let the odd car pass you; and you will be fine.
