Itinerary description
This is a beautiful trail and it is part of the Lebanese Mountain Trail section 17. For full details check the LMT website:

This is supposed to be MTB friendly in both directions. I started in Falougha but due to time constraints I only made it to the Beirut-Damascus highway.
I was not able to ride my bicycle all the time. Some parts were too muddy for traction while others were technically too difficult for me or I lacked the power in my legs. The parts where I did ride my bicycle were really enjoyable.
The trail goes through some historical sites. These are the French WWII trenches and underground hospital and the location where the first flag was raised in Jabal Felougha cedar reserve.
In addition there are beautiful views of Beirut and the Bekka Valley.
Note: I was able to make it to the entrance of the cedars reserve where the flagpole is located but could not ride through the reserve. The gate was closed (see picture). I rode my bicycle around the reserve to catch the trail on the other side.
Note: By foot the trail is considered moderate. I put difficult because I tried it with the bicycle.
