Itinerary description
Fast Ogíjares-Gójar Entry Level Thrilling Maze.
One more time, the purpose/trick was not to beat twice the same path ;-)
Great for hot summer, with a variety of welcoming tree shades here and there.
I rated it ‘Moderate’ level due to mixing some demanding ramps (particularly if it’s taken the other way around) & cool tricky stunts (mostly drop offs; bits of cool singletrack), despite being mostly ‘Easy’ to be ridden.
Some features:
-These high meadows are particularly attractive: not flat (!), unlike the usual Vega de Granada lands, showing the ancient conspicuous way of agricultural exploitation of the land and its water.
-Array of astonishing sights, all of a sudden, after each switchback.
-Crossing twice Dílar Stream (feet dipping friendly, particularly enjoyable with kids).
-Mind the new bee hives in production at Km5.85 (It’s funny how ‘GPS protected’ signs have been placed. Not ‘mind the bees’ signs though!).
-Gójar Town Hall Square by the church is under restoration & reform works right now. Let’s pray for the old fountain to be recovered as it always was.
-Downsides: some of these countryside trails being paved in the last years. Mind the drivers taking shortcuts at mad speeds.
