Itinerary description

Moro Jable _ Cofete _ and Southern Lighthouse curcuit. 1 - The route is very straight forward and the track is mainly in good condition. There are many up and down hill areas on the route with the climb to the viewing point (see picture 2) on route to cofete is a bit of a slog but managable. The down hill section towards cofete is good just be aware of the corners. Once at cofete there is a small resturant cafe if you fancy a water stop of some food. From Cofete village to the Winter Villa is a bit more of a climb than I orginally anticipated but once there the views are awesome and walking around the villa was quite special and it is not hard to see why he decided to build it there or to imagine the what life must have been like back in the days when Gustov built the house. The climb back up to the view point was suprisingly not as steep as i'd expected. Once at the view point it was a speed drop back down to the junction before heading for the lighthouse which is a bit of a trek but again worth the effort. There are a few cafe's in the local town near the lighthouse if you decide to stop for refreshments before making the long journey back to your start point at Moro Jable. Be prepared for some fierce winds in the early section of the route back but this calms down after a few KM as you get protected by the mountain ridge.

The only annoying thing about the entire journey was the occasional annoying drivers mainly in 4x4 and with the landrover safari groups who thought it was great to speed past a cyclist kicking up dust clouds and stones as they speed past ......... muppets.

A great ride out take plenty of fluids and snacks to keep you going.
