Itinerary description

Parada La Manzana double loop via Barbacoa Abra Grande in hills south of main road from El Limon to Las Terrenas. Unfortunately we came across very recent logging or slashing, and a slash and burn in action. Very depressing. See the pics. Two pics are of Louis, the owner of Real Bike, who names most of the trails. So up part of the trail is called Abra Grande, the downhill bit is called Armando at the top and Maximo half way down. And the bit joining the two is called David (yes after me, as I was the person who trailblazed that section. Armando Domech trailblazed the trail called Armando.

Bad pic of trail to the left (going up) that leads to the trail called Kautschuk, named after the rubber latex trees along part of the trail.

Slash land clearance

A huge area was slashed and made the trail impossible to ride. Too many trees felled across the path.
