Itinerary description
It started off well with a coffee in the Bar Las Piedras… then steep climb up through forest behind Pelayo, we kept going off track which made the going really tough in places. It was very overgrown with thorny brambles ripping at your skin and clothes. We weren’t well prepared and were wearing shorts! The route has some narrow paths, very rocky. Some nice sections on soft forest ground and we saw the odd goat and cow. We climbed up to the top of the highest rock and would have had fabulous views of Gibraltar etc except for the low lying cloud. On the way down we met up with the prisoners road built by Franco’s civil war captives, very rough road too… poor things mostly died on hunger while working on it…
All in all quite a painful route… would I fo it again? No!

I had sciatica and you had a torn shoulder… what made you think this route was appropriate for us? 🤣
