Itinerary description
This track is slightly different than most as it takes a left at Cruz Grande. This means a great downhill towards San Bartolome for refreshments before a 500m ascent. After that it's all downhill to Ayagaures.

We attempted the segment from Ayagaures to Maspalomas in May 2022. There’s now a locked gate with a ‘privado’ sign barring the descent from the Ayagaures–Arteara road to the barranco.
We backtracked towards Ayagaures and found another descent (with a chain across and no ‘privado’ sign) which was okay. It seems that if we’d backtracked further we’d have found the descent which everyone uses, evidenced by bicycle tyre marks. The path along the bottom of the barranco comprises 2km of stream rubble (1½ if you take the best descent), then 4km alternating stream rubble and rideable path, then a short easy section. We found this hard going with hardtails.
