Spa Baths, Fortuna and the Black Cave Trail

This route takes the rider from Camping El Castillejo to the the Baños de Fortuna hot springs, passing by what was once an ancient Roman village, archeologists have discovered tombs full of weapons on this site and ancient pottery.
Also, the large mound of earth on the left-hand side of the road was the village look out post and has to this day small pieces of roman pottery scattered around and on top of the site.
You will also find just of the main road the original archeology excavations of the roman baths they have been studying this area for many years and have found numerous artifacts.
Crossing the main road and heading to the modern-day Baths you will see the four-star Hotels that have therapeutic treatments available, the hot spring water is about 38 degrees and are said to have therapeutic healing capabilities.
The Trail then goes to Fortuna town and past the Boroque-style church and then on to the famous Black Cave, archeologists discovered painting on the walls dating back to the first century. Finally on the way back to Camping Castillejo if you are hungry or Fancy something to eat you will pass an Indian restaurant and a traditional Spanish bar.

Esta ruta lleva al ciclista desde el Camping El Castillejo a las aguas termales de Baños de Fortuna, pasando por lo que una vez fue una antigua aldea romana, los arqueólogos han descubierto tumbas llenas de armas en este sitio y cerámica antigua.
Además, el gran montículo de tierra en el lado izquierdo de la carretera era el puesto de observación del pueblo y tiene hasta el día de hoy pequeñas piezas de cerámica romana dispersas por todo el sitio.
También encontrará en la carretera principal las excavaciones arqueológicas originales de los baños romanos que han estado estudiando esta área durante muchos años y han encontrado numerosos artefactos.
Al cruzar la carretera principal y dirigirse a los baños modernos, verá los hoteles de cuatro estrellas que tienen tratamientos terapéuticos disponibles, el agua termal es de aproximadamente 38 grados y se dice que tienen capacidades terapéuticas de curación.
El Sendero luego va a la ciudad de Fortuna y pasa la iglesia de estilo borroco y luego a la famosa Cueva Negra, los arqueólogos descubrieron pintura en las paredes que datan del primer siglo. Finalmente, en el camino de regreso al Camping Castillejo, si tiene hambre o le apetece comer, pasará por un restaurante indio y un bar tradicional español.
