Itinerary description
Very cool trail near the official start of the Gran Paradiso national park area in Italy.
Start is in the big parking lot (free) near the gas station, in Sparone. After crossing the river Orco over the bridge, you are going on side-roads that go through small villages.
This is part of the official bike trail that can be found on the Gran Pardiso web, but their route goes further. You can cut it short at any of the bridges crossing the river, as did we.
Route is made of asphalt and terrain, pretty diverse. Easy to moderate difficulty, but very manageable either way.
Note #1: At first intersection go right. If you go forward you will come to Feilongo (dead end) and have to backtrack.
At second intersection go left and follow the route signs (visible in the photo). Be careful as they are sparse, and you will need some light guesswork when riding, but nothing too serious.

Dam
The satellite Google Maps may suggest that you can cross the dam over the river, but you can't. It's fenced, and off limits to non-personnel.
