Itinerary description
Best ride in Bangladesh. Amazing landscapes, quite some challenge in some part where it wasn't possible to pedal. But the scenery were breathtaking and efforts were rewarded. The path departed from Nishorgo resort, an affordable ecolodge with a great restaurant in front. Basic accommodation and Bangla food mainly, but all very well done and properly served in a nice environment.
The track is paved in the initial and final couple of Km, while the remaining part is unpaved, exception made for a few road with bricks.
The level assigned to this track is "difficult" because of some portion where biking was not possible and one need to pull the bike, but that is in line with the MTB spirit. Also, quite some canal to pass (see pictures). There are options to avoid those and take an external road that goes all around the tea plantations, but it also pass through a few villages while the proposed track do not encounter any (only at the beginning and at the end). The lake is also impressive but you need to negotiate your passage with the guard as they think you want to go around the lake with the bike instead of of just passing through.
In conclusion, a beautiful ride, with quite a few challenging portions, that offers an always changing landscape. If you want a peaceful ride and do not want to get off your bike and pull it through some difficult passages, then better to take the external track.
