Itinerary description
"Camino de Santiago" from Grañon to Burgos, where our "Camino Francés" 2016 ended. Despite the climb and crossing of the Oca mountain (which requires pushing by hand for two 150 m stretches each), this a stage with many long nearly plain stretches, marking the entering of the Camino into Castille and a preview of the landscapes that will remain similar until Astorga, much further ahead. We had an excellent "menu del peregrino" lunch at the mesón "Albergue Municipal" in Agés. We tried to avoid the industrial area of Burgos by choosing an old (now unofficial) path that takes the south when going around the airport, but this was not very successful - actually it would have been a nightmare if it were muddy. Burgos town itself is just beautiful, with the wonderful cathedral totally qualifying for a noble "ending" of our camino 2016. Special thanks to cyclists from Spain, Colombia and Australia for sharing experiences.
