Itinerary description
Important note! This is NOT a pure MTB trail; a good portion of it is hiking (and pushing the bike beside you).
The hiking part is EASY, the biking part is for EXPERTS ONLY. The elevation is not the problem, but the terrain which is pretty hard to navigate, and you constantly ride with the possibility of a serious and deadly fall. Definitely not for the weekend biker!
------
Trail starts at Supetarska Draga and follows the main asphalt road. You eventually arrive at a marker for an educational hiking trail (Frux), which follows the side of a dried up riverbank and the remains of a dam. The road is uphill, loose gravel, maybe 60-80 cm wide - and to your right side there's a steep downward fall full of craggy rocks. One slip and you're badly hurt at best, and dead at worst. We didn't dare to bike here, but instead pushed.
Then you arrive at the summit of the hill, and you can ride it's crest which is full of grassy knolls and easy to navigate paths.
Then you again arrive at the descent for Lopar, and once again you're riding on an even narrower gravel path to the side of which there's a plain plummet to your death if you slip. This is seriously for downhill/bmx experts only, and again we didn't dare to bike here but pushed instead. The hiking is easy, though.
You then reach the bottom, and off through the metal gates into the San Marino camping resort. We made our way though the camp, into town and headed to uphill part of Lopar and the famed Sahara beach. Some locals warned us that the trail is not accessible by bike, so we gave up. Note that there are some recorded trails on Wikiloc which go to the beach by bike. But, it was the middle of a scorching hot day and we decided not to push our luck.
We turned back, and down towards Lopar center again. From there it was easy to follow our way back to the starting point along the main road. This was the only "normal" biking part on this whole trail.

Intersection #5
The waypoint to the many beaches on this side of the island. We were told by locals that they're not really accessible by bike; we didn't wish to try our luck in the scorching afternoon sun, so we headed back to Lopar. Ignore this short venture into the woods and continue straight back to Lopar.
