Itinerary description

For those who like a challenge and longer day in the saddle this route might just suite! With the potential to start at each of the Galloway Forest Park Visitor Centres this offers flexibility. However, it should be noted that the single track at Kirroughtree is one way, and therefore should be done in an anti-clockwise direction.
Take extra care whilst crossing the wooden bridges over the Glenhead and Gairland Burns - these become extremely slippery when wet!
Please note:- that charges apply in all car parks, sections of the route are on tarmac roads with other traffic, forest roads may contain timber traffic.
The single track at Kirroughtree can be avoided by staying on tarmac and forest roads.
Update: The Visitor Centres have undergone a refurbishment making this route an even more attractive proposition!
