Itinerary description

Inhuleć is the 4-th longest tributary of the Dnieper in Ukraine, but is the least affluent among all Ukraine's longest rivers. Its source is situated near the southernmost natural forest of continental Ukraine (Čorný Lis or Black Forest), and then Inhuleć enters the arid steppes, sometimes flowing in high rocky banks resembling a canyon. Around Oleksandrija its stream is surrounded by deep and clean lakes - the flooded quarries of the former Dnieper Brown Coal Basin, which are now popular places for picnics. Mining landscapes continue all the way to Kryvý Rih, one of the largest iron ore centres in the world. On the tributary of Inhuleć there lies also large Uranium deposits of Žovti Vody.
Yet even in such abundance of industrial centres, this river still has some remnants of wild nature on its banks. Among them, Inhulećký Steppe in the northern outskirts of Kryvý Rih is a wonderful piece of grasslands covering high rocky banks.
This 2-day route is connecting some of the most remarkable places in the upper stream of Inhuleć and Žovta river.
