Itinerary description
I used to do a lot of mountain biking (MTB) before then i shifted to hiking, trekking and mountaineering. Mountain biking is an exciting activity and we have lot of trails in Lebanon suitable for such sport. You can push yourself to the limits while going up and enjoy the fast and tricky descent later. I already posted few years ago many MTB trails, one of them was around Zaarour massif. This time i decided to ride my bike again and restart my training for this activity at Zaarour, one of the easiest summits to reach. Starting near "Jouroudi" at wadi el Amine (one of my favourite's spots to start my trails around Zaarour), i followed the trail going up. Even if you don't have the power to climb all the way, you can switch between hiking and MTB depending on the difficulty of the ascent. Some parts are hard (at least for me) so i didn't hesitate to get off my bike sometimes. The view from the top is rewarding with top view of Sannine and Kneisseh. The descent was on trail till i reached "frozen cherry" summer pub. Just to mention that there's a steep descent before reaching "frozen cherry". Again don't hesitate to get off your bike while going up or down at tricky parts. From "Frozen Cherry", follow the usual 4x4 trail that leads to the lower parking then enter Zaarour club. Take the road next to the lake before exiting the club. A dirt road will lead you to your starting point. Wear a helmet at all times and stay safe!
