Itinerary description

-- Gullfjellet -- 987 m. -- 3-5 hours

Gullfjellet is the highest mountain in the Municipality of Bergen. The view from the top is spectacular. Here I show you probably the easiest trail to the top. It not very long, but I would say a part of it is pretty steep.

You can park in the parking area at Gullbotn. Follow the path around the water until you get to a small bridge. The trail goes from here along the river. You could also choose to take the paths. This will not be as muddy as the other, but unfortunately, I can't remember exactly where this trail began. Anyway, after a while, you will see a beacon (Number 7). There are built a lot of beacons, which has numbers, so you can follow these all the way to the top. The beacon at the summit is placed between beacon number 24 and 25.

I took the same trail down, but you can also follow the trail down towards Redningshytten. The trail described above is often used, and you can expect to see other people. The trail is used in the winter for skiing, but I recommend to do it in the summer or early autumn.
