This route climbs to the highest peak of the Wadi Rum desert, the 1734-meter peak of Jebel Rum along the Thamudic road, also called the Nabatean road, the Final Monster of our journey through the Jordanian desert.
This is an unreliable track and it is not recommended to follow it since when running through a canyon the error is very high. There are milestones and marks along the journey and we follow a small sketch to orient ourselves, but the path can be confused with other routes or approaches to climbing routes and end up lost. It is a technical route where you have to climb up to grade III+ with very exposed areas, in addition to climbing chimneys, walking in areas of adhesion and knowing how to orient yourself very well. Once at the highest point of the massif, the 360 degree views are incredible...they remain engraved forever... On the top mogote there is a Jordanian flag painted on the ground. The descent route called Hammad is even more lost than the ascent route. The path is well marked but you can also end up lost. You have to do descents and aerial steps, in addition to about nine rappels, some of them up to 45 meters. It is important to check the condition of the rappelling points, the triangulation lines...
A technical and adventurous route that runs through impressive landscapes but only recommended for people familiar with the Wadi Rum mountains and if possible with a guide, we spent the entire day almost without rest
