Itinerary description
The summit of Alija 2471m is located on south-west of Popluka and Jezera Peak. We start the trail from Fusha e Gjase (Valbone) early in the morning in a terrain of snow and ice and the first difficulty start when follow up the gutter of the mountain in the direction of the peak of Alija because of steep, icy terrain and very windy. At a certain point we deviated in right and up to catch the ridge of the mountain as you can see in photo. The ridge is very dangerous in winter as it is cover with snow and ice. We could not find a path on the right side (summer trail) and then by using a rope we climbed till the summit on left side. Check photo 1 and Photo 2. If you are doing this in winter you have to get with you Ice axe, crampons, helmet, rope and and same anchor tools and also to have climbing skills in order to climb a part in rocky and icy terrain.
