Itinerary description

Mont Blanc meaning "white mountain" is the highest mountain in the Alps and Western Europe, and the highest mountain in Europe outside the Caucasus mountains, rising 4,810 m above sea level, located on the French-Italian border. It is the second-most prominent mountain in Europe, after Mount Elbrus, and it is the eleventh most prominent mountain summit in the world.
It gives its name to the Mont Blanc massif, which straddles parts of France, Italy and Switzerland. Mont Blanc's summit lies on the watershed line between the valleys of Ferret and Veny in Italy, and the valleys of Montjoie, and Arve in France. Ownership of the summit area has long been disputed between France and Italy. The most popular climbing route to the summit of Mont Blanc is the Goûter Route.
We started the trail from Nid d'Aigle which is the last alpinist train station. To go there we took the teleferic in Bellevue which took as to 1801m where we get the first train at 07:55. The ticket for the telepherique of Bellevue cost 22 Eur/person back and forth and is valid even for the train till Nid D’Aigle. Be careful! You will not be allowed to get on the train if you do not show a reservation at one of the refuges, Refuge de la Tete Rousse or Refuge de Goûter. From Nid d'Aigle we went to Tete Rouse Hut where we rest for a little and after that we continued up to the grand couloir that was very stable this time. After the grand couloir we continued up scrambling and climbing helped also from fixed cable in the route for 660 m elevation gain in total until we arrived in Gouter hut. After Gouter we leave in direction to the summit. You have to be very attention because the territory is full of crevasses and you will need Crampons, Ice Axe, Helmet, Rope and all the technical equipment to be safe. Also, the terrain of the last 250 m elevation of the trail is very steep and exposed. From the summit the panorama embraces the Aiguille du Midi, Dent du Géant, Matterhorn and with the Alpine arc extending as far as the eye can see. We descent from the same route until we arrived in Tete Rouse hut.
