Mt. Aragat's south and west peaks (Eng/Esp)

This is a perfect hike for those who want to do a 4k without any special gear except for mountain boots. there is a road easy for any type of car up to lake Kari, where one will find the cosmic ray station and a hotel/restaurant at the elevation of roughly 3.200 mt. There is a road for 4x4 all the way to the southern peak that is not dangerous at all and doable even for kids. The interesting part starts now. From the southern peak, head to the saddle on the way to the western peak. The slope here is steep and there is a lot os loose sand and gravel. once in the saddle one has just to take it up to the western peak. Again, there are no clear paths due to the loose material all the way up. Take care of the rocks rolling down when going in a group and beware of the cliffs on the side. The summit has a worderful view and will make worth the path condition. On our hike, we returned again to the southern peak and from there we took the ridge trail back to lake Kari, which is much more beautiful and scenic than the 4x4 trail.
Variant: For groups with hikers on different levels like our, I recommend going first to the southern peak, which can be done by everyone. If everybody feels confident, I recomment to bypass the southern peak and head straight to the western peak visiting the southern peak only on the way back to the lake.

Esta es una caminata perfecta para aquellos que quieren hacer un cuatro mil sin equipo especial excepto por las botas de montaña. hay una carretera muy fácil de conducir para cualquier tipo de coche hasta el lago Kari, donde se encuentran la estación de rayos cósmicos y un hotel/restaurante a aproximadamente 3.200 mt de altitud. A partir de allí hay un sendero de 4x4 todo el tiempo hasta el pico del sur que no es peligroso en absoluto y factible incluso para niños. La parte interesante empieza ahora. Desde el pico sur, dirigirse a paso de montaña de camino al pico oeste. La pendiente aquí es empinada y hay mucha de arena suelta y grava. una vez en el paso uno tiene sólo que continuar un trecho más hasta el pico occidental. Una vez más, no hay caminos claros debido al material suelto todo el camino hacia arriba. Cuidado con las rocas rodando si se va en grupo y también con los acantilados en el lado del cráter. La cumbre tiene una vista maravillosa y compensará la condición de camino. En nuestra caminata, regresamos de nuevo al pico sur y desde allí tomamos el sendero de la cresta de vuelta al lago Kari, que es mucho más bonito y pintoresco que la pista de 4x4.
Variante: Para grupos de excursionistas en diferentes niveles como el nuestro, recomiendo ir primero en el pico del sur, que es para todos los públicos. Si todo el mundo se siente seguro, yo recomiendo hacerle un bypass al pico sur y dirigirse directamente al paso de montaña entre los dos picos para ascender primero el pico oeste y visitar el pico sur en el camino de regreso al lago.
