Itinerary description
This is the third highest mountain in the municipality of Bergen with its 843 meters.
You find the trail by driving from Bergen to Osøyro. From there, drive towards Solstrand in the center of Osøyro. Follow Samnanger until you come to Lønningdal. You will see a road to the left. The trail starts at the end of this, next to a golf course. There is a parking place there. The first part follows a tractor road. There are many signs named "Svinningen". You can see a lot of bible verses along the trail when you should have walked in 10-15 minutes. Follow the trail through the wood. With young children, this could be a great little hike.
It takes some time, but when getting above the treetops, you have a great view towards south. You will come to a little water after a while. The trail goes in the steep hill above it. The climbing starts here. It goes steep and seems to never end when you're there. At last, you will see the top. You have an incredible view from the top in all directions. Really worth the climb. You can choose to take the trail to Haugsdal on the way down, but I recommend to take this trail down. At normal speed and a break at the top, you will use 3-6 hours.
PS: The trail is drawn, and is not 100% correct. There can be small mistakes, but not more than 50 meters off the trail. Most of the trail is correct, but not completely sure about the exact route through the wood and on the top. Anyway, the trail should be mostly easy to find when you're there.
