Itinerary description

Triglav summit from Vrata Valley, ascending through Tominskov Pot trail, sleeping in Triglavski dom Kedarica hut and descending through Cez Pot trail (Julian Alps, Slovenia).

Itinerary performed in two days as part of a four-day-trip in the Julian Alps, Slovenia, in October 2022.

Here is the other itinerary we did, climbing Skrlatica

Day 1: Vrata Vallet - Triglavski hut
Distance: 11.0km, Ascent: 1682m+, Descent: 187m -, Max Elev: 2490m, Min Elev: 992m
Start: 08:12 End: 15:45 Elapsed Time: 7h 33min
Sleep: Triglavski hut

Day 2: Triglavski hut - Triglav summit - Vrata Valley
Distance: 12.5km, Ascent: 436m+, Descent: 1932m -, Max Elev: 2778m, Min Elev: 992m
Start: 07:35 End: 15:55 Elapsed Time: 8h 20min

The trail is easy to navigate since it has plenty of marks showing the way to go (see map picture).
The first day we walked from Vrata Valley until Triglavski hut, ascending through Tominskov Pot trail. We spent the night at Triglavski hut, which is less than 2h from Triglav summit.
The second day, we left part of our equipment in the hut. We climbed Triglav summit, we went back to the hut, picked our stuff and the went down to Vrata Valley though Cez Pot trail.

In Tominskov Pot, Cez Pot and the part from Triglavski hut to Triglav summit there are some steep/exposed parts which are equiped/assisted. It is an easy climb for someone with rock climbing experience but it could be scary for someone who is not used to climbing. A via ferrata set is useful for some parts.

Regarding Triglavski hut, you get a bed and you need to pay. In October they don't serve meals but you can buy food or something to drink.
