Itinerary description
These are amazingly beautiful and yet untouched by annoying tourism places that are kind a easy to get to.
You need an off-road vehicle. It takes a little more than 3 hours to drive from Batumi.
To get to the fortress, you will have to issue a pass from the border police. This is done on the spot and quickly. Documents are needed. You will be asked to fill out papers in Georgian or English, photographed and given a pass.
The whole way is on the roads, so we drove wherever we could drive. There are no problems with spending the night - you can find picturesque glades. But we did not meet good springs outside the villages.
Khikhani fortress is stunning!
