Itinerary description
This a great cycle/ hike combo to Mt Cootha summit return.
Its a great day out, with plenty of coffee/ food stops all the way to
stop and take your time.☺️
The route follows the river , through New Farm Park, City Botanical Gardens , milton bikeway and some back streets to the Mt Cootha Gardens. 95% of cycling is on cycle paths.
From here you lock your bike up, and follow the trail to the Summit of Mt cootha.
I have a trail that goes through some of the beautiful areas of the Gardens, lotsa rainforest and streams, up the Spotted Gum trail, return via the Mahogany track. Then back through the gardens, stopping past the Japanese gardens, the Kitchen Gardens, and main lake returning to your bike.
The return leg of journey, will go over the Go Between Bridge, past Goma gallery,
through Southbank, along the Kangaroo point cliffs, then over the Story Bridge, dropping back down to Howard Smith Wharves to rejoin the cycleway back to New Farm Park, back to Teneriffe to start of trip.
This trip offers a great opportunity to see lots of great parts of the city by bike along the river, and a bushwalk through great gardens rewarded with a stunning view of city.
If you dont feel like doing a massive cycle back to Teneriffe after the return hike to the summit. You can always, just cycle back to Regatta Ferry, and catch a ferry from there back to Teneriffe. It will just cut out the southbank,/ cliffs and Stiry bridge.
If you use or like this track or try some variants, please keave a comment. Appreciate.Thanks.
Happy Adventa!!
