Itinerary description
The path is really beautiful, it crosses through lovely terraces cultivated with olive trees, where you occasionally spot sheeps and horses. It’s therefore a quiet and relaxing landscape, I really enjoyed it.
If you can, plan a break at Aghios Nikita as it’s a wonderful place to rest and enjoy the view you get from there. Also the view from Aghios Nikita to Faros is amazing as you walk along the coast.
Unfortunately the track from Castro back to Artemonas went through the valley but I could not do that as it was completely covered with branches. I therefore came back from an alternative road, part of which (but a small one fortunately) was on the paved road. Most of it was on the local Sifnos trail and it was therefore still nice.
Please also note that occasionally parts of route are closed with sort of fences (probably from local people, while it should not be) and so you will have to climb over them.
