Itinerary description

It is a very beautiful, long and also demanding route. In this hike I did a mix: partially I followed Tinos trails, mostly I followed Tinos Map and the I also double check with the satellite of Wikiloc. The initial bit from Lichnaftya to Aghios Dimitros is marked but then it ends and I just followed what seemed a beaten path: at some point it wasn't easy to find but I managed too, nothing challenging. From Aghios Diimitros starts the paved road which brings you to Livada beach. It is a bit less than 10 km, I do not remember exactly. It is beautiful because it gives you the opportunity to see and pass by few beautiful beaches and also some lovely spots which are though only accessible by boat I believe. But technically is of course boring being a paved road. At one point, since I wanted to walk less on the paved road, I took a shortcut following what a dry river stream. This bit was a bit demanding especially in in the last part so if you don't feel super comfortable with sort of climbing you might just want to continue on the paved Rd; however it's not difficult.

The bit to the lighthouse and from the lighthouse to Livada beach (approximately 45 minutes) on the beach is very beautiful and and fun because it's a very small path and rocky path. Some sections of this bit are exposed but they are OK. I would recommend not doing it during a windy day though.

Livada beach is simply amazing it is part of a natural reserve and so it's very remote and quiet with apparently one bar which must be open during the high season you will find very affectionate cats and goose who are not affectionate 

From livada I took the Tinos Trail to Myrsini: it was very easy because the path is very well marked and it is also very very beautiful so it is worth doing it. However from Myrsini to Lichnaftya it's a bit tricky: from Myrsini I followed the paved road until I found the intersection for Steni (you will have the photo of it) and I took it this bit of the Tinos trail. However, but after a few metres it was blocked with branches from local people I guess. I easily managed to pass it and then continued without any problems until the dirt road.

Then according to Google Maps I should have kept walking on the paved/dirt road but since I didn't want to do that and the paper map was showing a shortcut I took it and this was quite challenging. Although it was easily accessible from the paved road it was blocked in at least three points with branches: again I managed to overcome them but it wasn't pleasant. Finally, to get back to the dirt road I even had to climb the little stone wall, it was less than 2 meters but it was already dark and some of the rocks were falling so it was a bit difficult. Anyway I did this shortcuts when it was already dark so I used the torch of my phone. I wouldn't recommend doing it;however if there is full daylight and you might want to try something adventurous you might think about it it takes 30 minutes.
Once you have reached the dirt road, the route to Lykhnaftya is easy peasy. A beautiful hike!
