First stretch of canyon road then desert, some villages, towards the Nile palm groves. Near Dongola sand.
Along the way we have seen several shelters with skins with water.
Dongola an immense site, it was the capital of the Makuria kingdom (almost all of today's Sudan) between the 6th and 12th centuries, inhabited until the end of the 19th century: "termite mounds" cathedral, monastery, houses.
About 30 km of track to get to the village of Mulwad: painted doors and houses enclosed by high walls, children surrounded us during the visit.
