Itinerary description
Early start from Blidinje towards Mostar where we went for a groceries and tyre inserts (we got a little side cut) as we forgot them at home, some sightseeing and then climb towards the Brasina mountain. Top of the Brasina wasn't our goal but we wanted to try the pass to Nevesinje.
Climb from Mostar to Brasina is not complicated and it is being ridden a lot it seems. As soon as we left the main climb and drove into the forest, the road became wild and very overgrown. TET is going here also and it seems that mostly motorcyclist are riding here these days, so be prepared that your car will be very scratched if it is not already. :)
The path start to descend quite early and there is a steep and rocky part which can be driven around over two sharp corners, but the lenght of the vehicle could be a problem. A nice and slow rocky driving though, except the strong owergrown branches sticking out.
At the bottom there was a obstacle made but we pulled the shovel out managed flatten it a bit and put some large rocks to drive over.
Right before Nevesinje there is a beautiful lake Alagovac where we spent the afternoon.
You should fill the tank here, the prices are cheap comparing to other parts of Bosnia.
Morine plateu is one of the most beautiful places there, endless rolling hills. Driving here is easy, but keep in mind that big lodging trucks are driving here too. We spent the night there, it is a beautiful place to watch the night sky.
If you have time, go and check Crvanjsko lake. Very peaceful place but we didn't spend a lot of time there.
As lady got full of the gravel roads, we continued to Sarajevo through Kalinovik (very strange place to visit, they are still praising the general Ratko Mladić, responsible for a genocide in Bosnia). I would recommend going to R703 or R960 and going back to the mountains instead.
