Itinerary description
Dibba Musandam to Zighi Bay / Wadi Bih Check point.
We drove this track yesterday till the Wadi Bih midpoint Omani checkpost and then turned back up as we had hiking plans of Jebel Qihwi.
In any case, foreigners can only reach the Wadi Bih but are not allowed to drive further towards Khasab, Rowdha, Limah or RAK.
Same vice versa, if driving from Khasab towards Dibba.
We can drive to Limah and Rowdha.
But not allowed to RAK or Dibba side.
I had already driven till the Omani Wadi Bih check point from Khasab side, and was always curious about the Dibba side.
Today that is checked out.
We added a stop at Zighi Bay 6 Senses resort towards the start of the drive.
The overall road quality of this full offroad is excellent, always maintained well.
The terrain is scenic and very good.
Many options to camp here and there.
Most of the initial path goes along the Wadi Khab al Shamsi.
Overall a great experience.

Hello Patrick, how did you cross the border if it is not open to expats? Also your hike description says that you turned around from the check post, so a little confused how you entered the Omani territory?
Hi Silver Fox,
A clarification.
There's a birder post near Dibba Hisn (belonging to Sharjah and border post managed by Sharjah) which you need to cross with Passport and EID, but no Exit stamp on Passport.
It's permission system between Musandam Oman and Sharjah.
Musandam agency will procure this permission for you for a fee, usually Aed 50 per person or above.
It takes about 3 days to get this permission.
Coming to my description of check post, its Wadi Bih checkpoint managed by Oman at Wadi Bih.
Only GCC nationals are allowed to cross this point.
Foreigners can drive till this point and return back ( like I did)
Foreigners can not drive from Dibba Musandam till Khasab directly, only GCC nationals can.
Similarly you can cross into Khasab from RAK and drive till the same Wadi Bih checkpoint but can't drive across !!!
Hope you understand the system.
Enjoy !!

Hi Patrick,
Nice to see your trip description. I have covered RAK-Khasab-Lima route. I'm curious to try Dibba-Wadi Bih. Can I go to Dibba/Sharjah border point directly without my advance visa/permission?
You need permission and it takes 3 working days to arrange for Musandam agent.
Direct access will not be granted
If you don’t mind can you please share the agent contact information? My mobile 971566345063

Patrick's trail and add-on photos are outstanding. I appreciate the time and effort he invested in providing such detailed descriptions. His insights were invaluable during my family trip to Wadi Biyah via Dibba, making it easy for me to follow and understand his guidance. This trail had long been on my list, and with his additional support, I successfully navigated the border crossing, finally checking off this longstanding goal.
Hi Nag, I'm glad this trail was helpful to you
Yes, it's a nice drive, which we also used for hiking Jebel Qihwi.
Overall a grand place to be.
So Babar managed to get the permissions quickly ?
Yes Patrick. I got quick support from Babar and he is very nice guy. This route is pending since years. Finally I could finish it with your & Babar support. Thanks once again.
