Itinerary description
Possible to drive in summer. I cannot promise you that the path will always be in a reasonable condition. It can change quickly. Talk to locals. No risk, no fun. In the worst case, you have to turn back.
Most of the times you have water nearby.
The highest point is the Karakol mountain pass at 3455m. It could very well happen that this pass is blocked by snow even in June.
My recommended camp site is here, GPS: 42.355526, 74.636490. It is at around 2880m of altitude.
The people in this video drove the track (start at 05:29). They had to turn around because of the snow conditions: https://youtu.be/jz8Hp6gV-aQ?t=329
