Itinerary description

Full off-road !!!
Spain - Ferry - Sea - cider Forests - Middle Atlas - look on High Atlas - Desert Dunes.

Our aim was to avoid roads.
When we did was to avoid agricultures areas that are less interesting.

We visit some nice cities but not the huge ones since we follow the east side of Morocco.

Incredible landscapes from Spain to south of Morocco sand Dunes Merzouga.

Be careful entering the dunes read the Risk waypoint (1) and (2) !!!

Have fun with maximal safety and respect.
:)

Photo of1) Careful !!!

1) Careful !!!

Please read this it’s very very important : Do Not enter if you have no reserve of gasoline, water and food for at least 3 to 4 days. You never know what could happen, something could break like a fuel pump or you could get stuck in sand. First half until next Risk waypoint (2) it’s quiet recreative, fun and easy to ride. Nice to learn how to handle dunes. Don’t hesitate to walk in top of a big dune when you stop the car it’s incredible :) We did next to the camping site, they look far but actually it’s not that far. But please come back to your camp before night !! Second half after risk waypoint (2) : Be very very careful, It’s very hard to find your way since dunes move a lot (from 9m/year for the big ones to 80m/year for the little ones) Don’t hesitate to take a guide if you feel the need they know how to drive dunes. We were alone but honestly It’s better to be with friends in case something happens. Don’t hesitate to go out of the car and check the steep passing a ridge without knowing what is after is dangerous. Always have fun in maximal safety This place is beautiful.

End of average Dunes (2)

Ahead where the track begins with lot more curves dunes are very difficult please read the first risk waypoint (1) when we entered the dunes. At this point before the difficult climbs you can go left (east) to join the road at the border of the desert where the nomads are. The way to Oubira it’s easier than the one we took. The way to Merzouga can be also done passing by Oubira which is more of a direct axle. The track we took is just reading dunes and finding a way to pass. No tracks were there because of strong winds.
