Itinerary description
Very nice trail up through the forest with nice views along the trail, easy drive, some tight corners. We went as far as the barrier at the top which was unfortunately locked. You can hike for 2 hours from the barrier to the glacier. We stopped at the top to have a coffee at the farm house, very nice people who spend the summer milking the cows and producing cheese. Family are there June/July to Sept l think. We camped for the night at a bridge/near the barrier on a flat-ish parking area, access is via the farmers electric fence system. We had clear sky so it was a case of watching, sleeping under the stars. Nice waterfall, if you like waterfalls. Cows and bull came past us in the morning, watch where you step, country pizzas’ everywhere.
