Short stop with a walk to the lake three hundred meters away, then escape from insects and resume the machines. Returning to the barracks, in the north you can see a small dome of land on a hilltop a hundred meters from the track. The guide states that it is one of the five phantom tombs, although it could only be a sentry box. In an hour we return to the yurt of Kara Jilga, loaded our bags we head east along the plain. We do not follow the forward track, more direct towards our destination, but we go around the south from Mount Ystik (Ыстык. 4639m on OSM), however insignificant.
Imperceptibly we enter the water catchment area of the Ystik torrent (it seems that the toponym has been placed a bit 'everywhere). The landscape is wide and arid, we meet some yurts, fences and mud houses, herds wander in the wide valley that stretches before us towards the east closed by the Pamir sub-chain. The track turns to the north and after some settlements and an isolated yurt (37.500496,74.1314) and a small climb that looks like a pass but it is not, we soon reach the main road (the one traveled by the drivers on the way back from Murgab) and, passed under the former Soviet summer colony (3558617,74.150027) we reach the baths. We are on the left bank of the stream, and the machine bridge has collapsed, replaced by a wooden walkway. Also on this west bank of the stream, we visit the old baths, a dark building with a tin roof, quite shabby. These are the famous baths of Jarty Gumbez (Dzharty-Gumbez - Джарты-Гумбаз; ru: Джарты-Гумбаз) GH (37.5645595, 74.1581978). A 4x4 waders the river with luggage while we pass the precarious rest of the bridge (next to the spa for locals) and we reach the Guest House (in the program of Mr. Daler is referred to as Kuban's Guest House. a construction site: Mr. Mendibai is building his own GH! Ci The 4x4 wades the stream, about ten meters wide and takes the luggage to the new structure that we reach on foot.It is a pretentious guest house, with wooden floors and beds. thermal water continuously warms the radiators that go at full blast creating an unbearable heat.
Immediately we would like to dive into the two indoor pools attached to the GH, but the water is boiling. Flat we dive and finally appreciate the torrid sauna. Too bad that there are no showers or taps of cold water. Akim gently shuttles between the river and the solarium with buckets of icy water.
Dinner more than appreciated, both for the plov and because we can have dinner sitting !!!
The meaning of the toponym is ambiguous, Jarty Gumbez - Half Tomb can indicate whether the tombs placed nearby are in ruins, or that they are located halfway between two other rhombs. But the enigma does not take away the charm of this abandoned place that tries to resurrect ...
Instead, another mystery has been revealed: the Baths and the Hunting Camp are the same place. The reports and the travel diaries now report the one, now the other of the two names. It would seem that the Kyrgyz manage the baths, while hunting camp is a prerogative of the Tajikis.
AAA There are two Hunting Camps, one is the one seen the other day between Ak Zoo and mashali, the other is this.
