Hi, your tour looks really nice. Was the way good to find and did you have nice overnight spots?
Hi, yes the tracks are quite well used and generally in good condition. I used maps from https://www.openstreetmap.org which are really accurate. We did a mixture of wild camping and campsites with plenty of opportunities for both.
Thanx a lot, how was the ratio between offroad tracks and streets?
It felt about 50/50, where there was tarmac we always opted for the very small local roads which were lovely anyway.
Hello, do you think that can be done for only one 4x4 in November?
@jonathan222 - The trail is not generally technical, a few tricky bits but on the whole fairly straightforward. I am not sure what the weather is like generally in November but I assume likely to be wetter in which case the trail will be muddy in places so if you do travel in only one vehicle you will need to make sure you carry appropriate recovery gear for self rescue. Some of the higher passes are also likely to have snow so maybe trickier or impassable.
None of the trails are too remote so in the event of a breakdown or situation you cannot resolve on your own you can always walk out without too much drama. Solo travelling in a vehicle always brings with it its own challenges, risks and pleasures so you will need to ultimately decide for yourself if it's yes or no.

Totally agree that weather is a key part of doing this trip, I’ve completed this in the opposite direction and the weather was dry and clear. The only sections were weather might hamper you is between Boltana and Isabena, when the trail does get a little more technical in nature. Apart from that, take it easy and enjoy it 👍🏻
Hello , is this trail possible to do with a campervan (Mercedes sprinter 4x4) ?
Hi.... A lot of the trail yes but there are some sections that are quite narrow and also with low trees so you might struggle with headroom at a few points. There are usually lots of different trails in the area so it shouldn't be hard to find an alternative route if a section was unsuitable. The weather will also be a big deciding factor as the trails can get quite slippy when wet, late Autumn, Winter and Early Spring will also close some of the higher passes with snow.
In the end you are never really remote and if you are willing to take your time, not afraid to back off if you are not comfortable you should have a great time.
Can you be kind enough to suggest a half way point please? I was looking at Ainsa but think it may be too much to do in one day from Bilbao. How many days did it take you to do please? Thank you.
From Bilbao we drove a few hours and camped NE of Pamplona at a campsite, Camping de Urrobi. We then took 3 days to get to Ainsa, averaging about 150km per day. Possible to go faster but we were in no rush.
Ainsa is about half way, we took about 7 days in total.
Many thanks Simon
