Itinerary description
This trail is only for 4x4 or dirt bikes no SUVs, good ground clearance is needed. I drove it with a basically stock JKU. Sometimes the trail gets quite narrow, if you will drive it with a big 4x4 as a Jeep Wrangler you will get some pinstripe scratches, a Jimny will have no problems. I initially planned to continue to the La Vitarelle mountain but the climb was to narrow for my guts so I decided to go back the way I came. I still would recommend to go the Pic de Rey as the view is really breathtaking. I sometimes had to cross some gates which were all unlocked, but don't take my word that they will always be open.
This trail is easily doable in a morning or afternoon, it took me 4h with brakes for taking photos.
It is a great alternative program if you are staying in Carcassonne and want to experience nature in your 4x4.

Very deserted area. Parts of the track did not see any vehicles in the past 10 years.

Le parc éolien de haut cabardes est interdit au véhicule, je voulais commencer au milieu cette balade (pradelles-cabardes) je suis immédiatement bloqué.
@Elkain je vous comprends, mais s'était écrit dans ma description 🤷♂️
Il était noté barrière mais là c'est une interdiction à tous les véhicules.
C'est possible qu'il ont changé la signalisation, a part a port la dernière fois que fait le tour, mais les autres parties son accessible et un très beau paysage

Trace au top des paysages magnifiques, quelques passages techniques mais rien de complexe fait avec un patrol y60 d’origine
Attempted this trail today and was very disappointed had to deviate from the route 3 times for private property no entry then come to a point where there was no vehicle access and no way for going round and rejoining do not recommend
I am sorry to hear that, then they must have changed a lot of the signage the last time i drove this track
