Itinerary description
A combined car and stroll from the Casa de las Flores in Mer Sober to the San Esteban station where there is a bar restaurant and one can watch the train(s) go by. Ther is also a hidden beach on the way.
Mer San Estevo de Sil (Ribeira Sacra)
In Sober take the road to Anllo pass Anllo and take the road indicated to Nogeira & San Estevo. This passes through Nogueira than woods with some stunning view across to Monforte.
It starts to switchback downhill, yes you can drive but slowly. Once you reach the chapel that's it park there. Its best to turn so you can escape easily. You'll see a small concreted walk going downhill eventually across a foot bridge and again uphill towards the old cement silos.
Once you are on a small road just follow it uphill. There is "camino" marked "private access" but if you follow this on foot (downhill) it will lead to a secret beach and just patter out.
Passing the silos you#ll se the bar and the station. Here you can relax sip a local wine nibble some cheese, let your mind wonder between the the reminiscence of dam construction and stunning landscape delaying the way back as long as possible.
If you do this in winter early spring or late autumn take a flash light - When it is dark it is DARK.
