Itinerary description
On our way to the village Igaliku (Garðar) we sailed to the Qooqqut fjord to look at the many magnificent icebergs in the fjord. From the pier at Itilleq we had a easy walk to Igaliku There is a great hiking terrain around Igaliku, but we were just visiting the village at this time. The landscape is full of contrasts; from the green and lush hillsides to barren rock deserts and rugged mountain terrain. You have views of drifting icebergs and waterfalls. Additionally, Igaliku is a really charming and friendly village. There are impressive ruins from the Viking time, but also the village's recent history is interesting and can be studied in the small museum in the church. At last we sailed straight back to Narsarsuaq.
