Itinerary description
This excursion took place in Tannourine the home of apple orchards and cedar trees.
This trip was very challenging for snowshoeing. The trail required us to move from a 1736 elevation to a 2115 elevation on a steep ascent and then descent a steep ramp from a 2271 elevation to a 1855 elevation. The trail was a mixed of frozen, wet, and powder snow. Due to a relatively warm weather, the bottom of the snow was melting which allowed for quite a few stretches of post-holing incidents.
The weather was cold with a sunny and clear skies in the afternoon hours and turned into foggy and cloudy skies in the early to late afternoon hours. It snowed during the last 3 km of the hike.
The views of snow covered mountains, and houses and apple orchards covered in deep snow was food for our soul.
I do recommend this trail for hardened outdoor nature lovers.

This is the beginning of a steep descent to Wadi (Hareesa) Hareesa. According to Locals, this is where the original Lady Hareesa was; and was moved to the coast above Jounieh because of wars.
